RESIDUS – The Conscious Choice

Residus is a Scandinavian brand providing women with high quality, well-curated products through transparent supply chains, ethical choices and low impact materials. This they do with a clean aesthetic, inspired by women’s everyday lives and needs. Residus don’t just talk about sustainability; their supply chain is an open book available in all their products. It’s up to you to scan the QR-code in Residus garments and decide if they are sustainable or not!

Sustainability has always been the core of the brand and in 2020 Residus introduced QR-codes in the care label of all their garments showing the consumer all factories involved in the process, from raw material in the fiber to dying of the fabric and manufacturing of the product. To them it is important that the customer can see and feel secure that their factories take responsibility for both the environmental impact and the people involved in making a Residus product.

Today many consumers distrust self-proclaimed green tags and not without bases. Greenwashing is very common today, how sustainable is a product if the cotton is organic but the person who made it does not have a living wage nor a work environment that is protected by decent labor law?

Should we be allowed to call a garment sustainable if the fiber is recycled but the dying of the fabric is harmful to both factory workers and the environment? How do we know that a fiber is sustainable if it is not certified and we as a brand are willing to show you where it comes from?

Residus believe that transparency is the only way forward for brands that want to be able to talk about sustainability and responsibility. It is about building an honest affair through trust, openness and dialogue with the customer.

Residus was founded in Stockholm, Sweden 2017 by Elin Mohlander and Evalena Jonsson with a vision to create ethical, transparent and long-lived fashion.
