Leather belt care:

An important part of caring for a leather belt is the application of conditioning products. These contain moisture and other essential ingredients that protect leather from drying out and help to deter dirt. Simply apply a small amount of conditioner to a dry cloth and rub it all over the belt, covering both sides. Then let your belt air-dry. Remember to condition your belt in moderation – if you do it too often, you risk saturating it.

Leather and water are not the best of friends. If your belt gets wet, we’d recommend blotting it with a towel and letting it dry naturally. Hang your belt in an open area at room temperature, leaving it to air dry – don’t try to accelerate the drying process with hairdryers or other heat sources, as this could leave your belt hard and brittle.

Certain regular attention must be given to a leather belt to protect its attractive characteristics and liberate it of any odour. Neglecting simple maintenance of your belt can ruin its charm and even result in damage. To clean your belt, simply wipe it down with a lukewarm damp cloth. However, keeping in mind the acrimonious relationship between leather and water, be sure not to saturate the cloth or you risk damaging your belt.
